Golf Sales & Tournament Manager - West Valley - Full Time

Golf Sales & Tournament Manager

Reports to: Director of Golf
Pay Status: $55,000 annual plus commission - Exempt


Job Summary

The Sales Tournament Manager Is responsible for generating, managing, and executing all tournaments and group events at all Recreation Centers of Sun City Golf courses. This role focuses on driving revenue through proactive sales efforts, cultivating client relationships, coordinating event logistics, and delivering exceptional tournament experiences. The Manager works closely with club leadership and operations teams to maximize booking opportunities and ensure flawless execution from initial inquiry through post event follow-up.

Through strategic, relationship-driven sales and seamless event coordination, this role drives the success of RCSC golf tournaments—enhancing participation, sponsorship engagement, and overall event experience—while elevating RCSC and Sun City as premier destinations for competitive and recreational golf.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive Tournament & Event Sales Development by proactively soliciting and securing golf tournaments; promptly responding to inquiries, conducting engaging site tours, and preparing customized proposals and contracts, while building and maintaining a strong pipeline of new and returning tournament clients to maximize revenue and long-term partnerships.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all tournament clients from initial booking through event execution, building long-term partnerships that drive repeat business and referrals while ensuring all client needs, expectations, and contractual obligations are clearly communicated and successfully fulfilled.
  • Lead comprehensive financial management by overseeing strategic pricing, proposals, and event budgets to maximize profitability; closely monitor tournament revenues and expenses to ensure financial targets are met; and drive incremental growth by identifying and executing upsell opportunities across contests, merchandise, food and beverage, and value-added services.
  • Track and report tournament sales performance and booking pace, maintain accurate and up-to-date records within sales systems and event files, and provide regular revenue forecasts and production updates to club leadership to support strategic planning and goal achievement.
  • Lead on-site event management by overseeing tournament execution to deliver seamless client and guest experience, serving as the primary host during events to promptly resolve operational issues, and ensuring full compliance with club policies and tournament standards.
  • Internal Team Coordination: Proactively communicate tournament details to all departments well in advance and collaborate closely with Golf and F&B managers to ensure seamless execution and consistent service levels throughout the event.
  • Drive business development by identifying new tournament markets—including corporate, charity, association, and social groups—developing targeted outreach strategies to expand the club’s tournament calendar, and strengthening relationships with local businesses and organizations to increase bookings
  • Continuously improving tournament operations by evaluating event performance and client feedback to enhance future experiences, implementing innovative ideas and offerings to keep competitions fresh and engaging, and recommending operational enhancements that support sustainable tournament growth
  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis by collecting client feedback and evaluating event performance, tracking retention, repeat business, and revenue trends, and preparing recap reports with follow-up communications to drive future bookings

Qualifications

Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.
Experience with Golf Genius software.
Excellent written and oral communication.
