Custodian - Golf Shop and Grill - Part time

Department: Centers

CUSTODIAN - 4 Positions Open

LOCATIONS (Golf Shop and Grill): Willowbrook/creek, Lakes East/West Golf Course, Riverview Golf Course, and a Floater for all locations.

Days/Hours: Willowbrook/creek: 5pm-9pm Mon-Wed.& alternating Thursdays; Riverview: 5pm-9pm Fri-Sun & alternating Thursdays; Lakes: 5pm-9pm Fri-Sun; Floater: 4pm-9pm Fri-Sun.

Rate: $15.51 per hour

Job Summary: Assists the Corporation in meeting its standards by providing custodial services, maintenance and light repair work in addition to outstanding customer service. The areas serviced include buildings, grounds, and any other assigned facility or area.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs daily housekeeping and custodial duties of the buildings, its facilities, equipment, and furniture.
  • Cleans restrooms and restocks paper and soap supplies
  • Dust and mop floors, vacuum carpets, wash windows, empty trash receptacles, and bags trash for proper disposal.
  • Sets-up and breaks down furniture, equipment, platforms, etc. for clubs and groups in auditoriums, social halls, and other areas as requested.
  • Operates blowers and power washers to remove debris from patio areas.
  • Corrects and/or reports unsafe conditions and equipment Foreman and/or Center Leader
  • Assists in Emergencies by placing 911 calls for medical assistance. Completes and submits Incident Reports and other required forms or communications to Custodian Foreman and/or Center Leader immediately.
  • Participate in mandatory safety training and prioritize safety throughout the workday.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • One year of custodial and housekeeping experience preferred OR
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
  • Knowledge of procedures, materials, and equipment used in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings and facilities.
  • Ability to operate powered equipment, i.e. pressure washers, blower, vacuum, and floor scrubber.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and cardholders.
  • Good customer service skills with ability to deal effectively with people; knowing when and where to direct them for problem resolution.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions on cleaning and equipment operation
  • Ability to read, write and understand any required reports and instructions including safety data sheets.
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders
  • Ability to lift and manipulate up to 35 pounds and to seek help and/or provide assistance to others with any object(s) over that weight.
  • Willingness to operate as a member of a team.
