IT Infrastructure Specialist - West Valley

Department: Information Technology

IT Infrastructure Specialist

Full Time. This is NOT a contract job. This is NOT a remote position. Work is performed at Sun City Recreation Center locations.

Pay: Exempt/DOE

Job Summary

Responsible for monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting systems, enterprise applications and network devices. Coordinates support and issue resolution tasks with IT vendors and contracted service providers. Ensures adherence to IT standards and proactively analyzes opportunities to optimize infrastructure performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Active Directory user administration
  • Install, configure and maintain physical and virtual servers, storage systems and enterprise applications
  • Supports currently installed software applications (including but not limited to: MS Office, TotaleGolf, Microsoft Dynamics GP, RecTrac, and WordPress)
  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure devices including Switches, Access Points and NVRs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve telecommunications issues
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of infrastructure resources
  • Researches, tracks, and resolves end user support issues
  • Trains RCSC staff on software applications individually, in group settings, and by telephone
  • Partners with senior staff to develop needs analysis, selection, and deployment of new software applications
  • Reviews software application enhancements prior to release
  • Develops application documentation for internal end user use
  • Interfaces with software vendors for problem issue resolution
  • Recommends application changes and completes application installation, upgrades, and conversions
  • Configures and installs computer hardware, peripherals, and printers
  • Installs network devices and cabling as directed or required
  • Assists in providing technical support to corporation users with scopes including but not limited to application, hardware, and networking components
  • Leads system enhancement and conversion projects as assigned
  • After hours scheduling as required for installation and maintenance tasks
  • On call duties as assigned
  • Participate in mandatory safety training and prioritize safety throughout the workday.
  • Performs other tasks as required

  • Knowledge of Active Directory User Administration tasks
  • Knowledge of the platforms installed for applications used by the corporation, including: Windows 11, Windows 2019/2022 Server, M365, Sharepoint, MDM, Enterprise Monitoring Tools
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Remote Desktop Services and user profile management
  • Knowledge of advanced networking
  • Ability to learn new applications and concepts quickly
  • Skilled in expressing information and concepts both orally and in writing
  • Ability to look forward, anticipate the organization’s needs, and foresee potential issues

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology

OR

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • A+ or Network+ certification preferred.
  • Experience in training users on applications, systems, or processes
  • Experience supporting and maintaining a variety of software applications and platforms in a corporate environment.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in maintaining computer software and hardware.
  • Possession of and ability to maintain a valid state of Arizona driver’s license.

Work Conditions

  • On call availability with shared responsibility
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and to handle other computer components
  • Ascend/descend ladders and/or access limited crawl space areas
  • Stooping, bending, and kneeling to accomplish equipment installation projects
