Human Resources Manager - West Valley

Human Resources Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to focus on and oversee the administration of employee benefits, workers' compensation, employee relations, and payroll. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing HR policies and practices that ensure compliance with legal regulations, improve employee satisfaction, and support the overall success of the organization.

This HR Manager role is critical to supporting a positive and productive workplace by ensuring employees are well-supported in terms of benefits, compensation, and workplace issues. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong foundation in HR operations.

The HR Manager will collaborate with leadership, department heads, and employees to create a positive and effective work environment while managing day-to-day HR functions related to benefits administration, claims management, employee relations, and payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Benefits Administration:
    Oversee and manage all aspects of employee benefits programs. Ensure benefit offerings are competitive, compliant with laws, and communicated effectively to employees.
  • Workers' Compensation:
    Administer and manage the workers' compensation program, ensuring timely reporting, claim management, and resolution. Work closely with insurance carriers to manage and closely follow cases.
  • Employee Relations:
    Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, grievances, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives. Promote a positive organizational culture and fair treatment of all employees.
  • Payroll Management:
    Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timely disbursement of salaries and wages. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as company policies. Manage payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies. Communicate well with Accounting; prepare, submit, and review all payroll matters with Accounting.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
    Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state HR regulations and ensure all HR practices are in compliance. Prepare and maintain necessary reports related to benefits, compensation, workers’ compensation, and payroll as required by management and regulatory bodies.
  • Policy Development & Implementation:
    Implement and communicate HR policies and procedures. Work with the Sr. HR Generalist to develop policies and handbooks. Ensure policies are aligned with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with department leaders to address employee concerns and improve HR systems and practices. Partner with the finance team to ensure payroll integration and budget alignment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources with a focus on benefits, workers' compensation, employee relations, and payroll management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll software, Paylocity preferred.
  • Must have worked with Insurance Brokers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability to resolve conflicts and handle sensitive matters.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational and problem-solving skills.
